Building production AI while evaluating frontier models at Amazon AGI | Founder, Tov AI Tech | Bilingual EN / FR

About Me

Most AI advice today comes from people who either build systems or talk about them, rarely both. I do both. By day, I evaluate frontier AI models on Amazon's AGI team in Cambridge, stress-testing what they get right, where they fail, and what that means for the people deploying them. The rest of my time goes into Tov AI Tech, my boutique AI consultancy, and shipping real production AI: a deployed wellbeing platform with vector search, agentic workflows and full MLOps; a mobile marketplace with AI-powered features; and AI assistants that actually move the needle for small businesses. That dual perspective is what I bring into every conversation. I can tell you what's hype and what's real, where to start, what will actually deliver value, and where the risks are hiding, because I see both sides of the AI stack every single day. Bilingual in English and French. Based in the UK.

Specializations

AI engineering and frontier model evaluation — building production AI systems and assessing how today's leading models behave, fail, and create real-world risk for the businesses deploying them.

My Strengths

*Frontier model evaluation, how today's leading AI models behave, fail, and where their real limits sit (from inside Amazon's AGI team) *Production AI delivery end-to-end systems built and deployed, not just slides: backend, retrieval, agents, MLOps, monitoring *AI risk & governance in plain language, what the EU AI Act, data protection, and trust actually mean for your business *Pragmatic strategy, cutting through hype to identify the 2–3 AI moves that will pay off for your team *Cross-functional bridge . I speak the language of engineers, executives, and end users, and translate between them *Bilingual EN/FR, comfortable running the conversation in either language

What You'll Gain

*A clear, jargon-free view of where AI fits in your business, and where it doesn't. *Honest assessment of vendor pitches, AI tools, and "AI strategies" you're being sold. *A starting roadmap: the first 30, 60, 90 days of an AI initiative that actually delivers *Practical risk awareness, what to govern, what to log, what to ban, and what to leave alone. *Direct answers from someone who builds and tests AI for a living, not a consultant repeating headlines. *Confidence to make your next decision, whether that's hiring, buying, building, or pausing.

Topics I Cover

*Where to start with AI in your business, first use cases that actually pay off *Evaluating AI vendors, models, and tools, what to ask, what to test, what to ignore *Build vs buy, and how to decide *Generative AI & LLMs, real capabilities, real limits, and how teams are deploying them today *AI risk and model behaviour, what to watch for when deploying AI in production *Getting more out of AI tools, ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot and the rest, used properly *Prompting that actually works, how to talk to AI models to get useful answers *Career guidance for engineers and analysts moving into AI

What to Expect

*A focused, honest conversation, no slides, no buzzwords, no fluff. *Before our session: send me your context and questions so I arrive prepared. *During the call: direct answers, real examples, and concrete next steps you can act on. *After the call: a short written summary of the key takeaways, if you'd like one. *Confidentiality by default, what you share stays in the conversation. *Sessions in English or French, whichever helps you think more clearly.

Questions & Answers

I split my time three ways. On Amazon's AGI team in Cambridge, I evaluate frontier AI models, testing how they respond, where they fail, and what that means for the businesses using them. Through my consultancy Tov AI Tech, I help companies and founders make sense of AI: what to build, what to buy, and where to start. And I personally build production AI systems, backend, retrieval, agents, and deployed apps. Most "AI experts" do one of these three. I do all of them.

Founders and small businesses figuring out their first AI move. Engineers and analysts who want to break into AI properly. Decision-makers who need someone to cut through the hype and tell them what's real. And anyone working in or with French-speaking markets who'd rather have the conversation in French.

Some version of "where do we even start with AI?" The answer is almost always the same: stop chasing the trend and start with a real, boring problem in your business. The companies winning with AI right now aren't the ones with the flashiest demos, they're the ones who picked one well-defined task and made it work end-to-end. I help you find that task.

ChatGPT will give you an answer. It won't tell you which 80% of that answer is wrong for your specific business. I work inside AI every day — evaluating it, building with it, deploying it — so I can tell you what actually works in production versus what only works in a demo. You'll leave with a clear next step, not a longer reading list.

Yes — and we should. Evaluating frontier AI models is literally my day job. I can walk you through what today's leading models genuinely get wrong, what risks are real versus hyped, and what your team should actually monitor when you deploy AI. This is one of the few areas where most consultants are guessing and I'm not.

Not at all. I work with founders, executives, and non-technical decision-makers all the time. I'll match my language to yours. If you want depth, we go deep. If you want plain English, that's where we stay. Either way, you'll understand what we discussed and what to do next.

Yes. I'm bilingual English–French and equally comfortable in either. Some topics — especially ones tied to your team, your culture, or your nuance — land better in your first language. Just let me know when you book.

Yes, within reason. Before AI became my focus, I worked across web development, data science, and cloud — and I still use all of it daily in my own AI projects. If your question touches AI from a data, infrastructure, or product angle, we can absolutely cover it. If it's purely an IT question with no AI component (e.g. setting up an office network), I'm probably not the right person and I'll tell you upfront.
